Reflection

Reflection

Three gradings had past and now Fourth grading is near to its end. It only means that being fourth year students is also near to end.

I learned many things in the previous gradings, I learned about blogging, about  HTML and lot more. Now in the fourth grading, we have learned about Photoshop. I remembered that we had this lesson when we were in Third year. But in that time I only had a bit of knowledge about editing pictures.  And now that we had this lesson again, I learned many information, my knowledge about it widen.

I know that all I’ve learned not only from fourth grading but also in the previous gradings and years, I can use them in the years to come, in the next chapter of our lives, the college.

My Dream, My Future

Future for a Dream

There is a saying, “Future is only for the one’s who has a dream”. If we have dreams for our lives, then the future is there to welcome us. So it means that our future depends on what our dreams are, on what we want our lives to be in the future.

All of us started in a dream. As we were born and started schooling, we also started to dream, we started to dream of what we want to be in the future. When I was a small kid, I also dreamed too, I dreamed and continue to dream to be a doctor. I want it to happen in the future. So I put into my mind that as I go on with my life, I will do my best to reach my dream. In order for us to succeed, we need to have a goal. Like me, I want to be a doctor, nothing will happen, I won’t ever accomplish my dream if I won’t do anything for me to succeed. What I need to do is to strive harder in order for me to reach my goal, in order for me to have a beautiful future.

All our dreams will be granted if we do our best. And we always need to remember that He is the reason why. He will help us no matter what happen, He will guide us and teach us lessons in life, in order for us to reach our dreams and our future, my dream and my future.

Change: It stars with Me

Change begins with M e

Many people say that ‘Change’ is the only permanent thing in this world. And that is true. Change is the only thing in this world that keeps on going. Everything changes, everyone changes, every individual changes. And that change- I want it to start with me.

Why is there a change in this world? Simple, it’s because of us humans. We change everything, from simple things to complicated ones, from good things to bad things and vice versa. There will be no change if we’ll not do anything, because change is in our control. Change is like a remote controlled toy, we are the ones whose making them move, we direct them and they’ll do what we wanted. Likewise in our lives, we do things and our lives changes.

Change is in our hands, it is in my hand. So if we want to be a better person, we must oath to do our best so that there will be a change. We must put into our minds that what we going to do are good things so that in result, the change is for better also. Like the example I used, the remote controlled toy. If we didn’t direct it in the right way, it’ll make a big change it’s either be broken or won’t work anymore. It’s the same with us. If we do things in bad ways then the change will be in negative, we’ll fall down. I don’t want that to happen to me. I want the change to be positive. I can only accomplish that if I do good things in good ways, and in that time, change will start and I know that that stars with me.

Kannawidan

Kannawidan

Kannawidan is a festivity which the City of Vigan celebrates every year. In this festival, the Ilocano people showcase cultural shows, native products and the talents of the Ilocanos. Kannawidan Ylocos Festival became an annual festival that aims to create awareness on the preservation of the province' rich cultural heritage, practices and traditions, and a showcase of the different agriculture and industry products of the province. There is a need to preserve our rich heritage and unique culture. With this in mind, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur has conceived a festival that highlights these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well.

Now on its fourth year, the Kannawidan (local term for traditional practice) festival was also an occasion to strengthen the Ilocano culture, recognize Ilocos Sur’s sons and daughters who brought honor to their province, celebrate abundant harvest or just to celebrate the Ilocano spirit that continues to drive locals to boost their home province.

Various festivities were staged from trade, agriculture, aqua and livestock while a display of farm products opened the six-day festival.

To carve young talents in the field of arts, an array of talent competitions gathered the youth from choral, marching bands, traditional street dancing, traditional music ensemble , dance drama, traditional folk dancing , painting, design making and photo exhibits.

Tradition was also found in the culinary treats that residents prepared including delicacies that Ilocos Sur is known for.

Residents displayed products under the One-Town-One-Product (OTOP) namely: onions, garlic products from pickled and dried garlic and garlic polvoron for Sinait town; bamboo products such as trays and baskets for Cabugao; buri palm leaves products such as mat, bags, baskets, fan, hats for San Juan; corn husk bags, flowers, curtains, slippers for Magsingal; local wine called

Reflection

Reflection

Third Grading is finally over. In few months, I gained a lot of knowledge and information in subject ICT IV. We learned about Hyperlinks. We made many activities like: HTML links, HTML Frameset, HTML Iframe, HTML Table and Table Heading and HTML Ordered List and Unordered List. We also continued to post on our blogs.

Along the way in studying the subject, I encountered some problems. One is about late passing of assignments or drafts and late posting. It is because in the past few days, I’ve been busy about thinking what to do with so many projects and requirements that I even forget about posting. But despite of those projects and requirements to do, I’m making sure that I can cope up with the activities and do the assignments and drafts.

Moving on, in the Fourth Grading, I will do my best to change the way I performed in the Third Grading. I will do my best to change my attitudes and give extra effort in passing assignments and drafts on time.

New Year, New Me

New Year

“Hope Smiles from the threshold of the year to come, Whispering 'it will be happier'...”  Alfred Tennyson.. The year that past is not that good and it’s not that worst also. But for this year, I want it to be more happier and perfect.

New Year, my favorite holiday, is one of the most celebrated days in the world. The day is shaped by different customs and traditions. Each culture celebrates this holiday in its own unique way. The people start to prepare for the holiday at least one month in an advance. The preparation begins by buying presents, decorating houses, and making new costumes.

Right before New Years the whole city gets new life and in a way starts looking like an ant-hill. All around you people are hurling around the city, caring New Year trees, presents, groceries, or just waking around and looking at the holiday madness. The entire city is beautifully decorated with lights in a variety of different colors hanging all over buildings and telephone polls.

Essence of Christmas

Christmas

We  are in that special season once again, a season of joy, of peace, of great tidings. A season when we celebrate the birth of Christ the King, the redeemer of mankind! Jesus is the reason for the season.

The Christmas of the past was once a beautiful celebration of the birth of Christ. Families would come together to enjoy the holidays together in a peaceful, loving environment. Children ran around in a pine scented home, clamoring over the presents that Santa had brought the night before. Even if the family was struggling, children would appreciate the hard work and thought put into each gift. At night mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters would curl beside a blazing fire and watch a classic Christmas movie called, "It's a Wonderful Life". This is what the true spirit of Christmas should be.

In today’s day and time, it is easy to lose sight of the true meaning of Christmas. Amidst the delicious meals, sweet drinks, lovely songs & dances, beautiful friends & family members we would come across this season, let’s try not to forget about the child, born on a winter night so cold, whose bed was made only of hay & animal food; our lord Jesus Christ, who taught us all what real, genuine & unconditional love is. As we celebrate the birth of our saviour, let’s be human & kind enough to remember & show some love to those motherless babies, helpless orphans, hospital patients, prisoners, beggars & all those who are not fortunate enough to be actively involved in the celebration of the birth of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
